Day one of excavating the foundation for the new well house

The City of Caledonia will be constructing Well House No. 8 to service Well No. 8, which was drilled in 2020. Wapasha Construction Co., Inc. has been awarded the bid for the project, and Wapasha Construction Co., Inc. has started mobilizing on the project site, which is located in South Park at 220 W. Adams Street. The project is anticipated to be completed by June 30, 2022, with substantial completion reached by May 31, 2022. Regrettably, the playground will be closed during construction. The Well House No. 8 construction project has been made possible by a $1,286,324 loan from the Drinking Water Revolving Loan Fund, which is administered by the Minnesota Public Facilities Authority. Traut Companies successfully drilled a new 600 gallon-per-minute well in the South Park at 220 W. Adams Street. The well was capped at the end of the project until the well house is constructed in early 2021. The playground will be closed during construction.
