Garbage & Recycling Pick-Up by Richard’s Sanitation
Garbage totes are black with black lids. Recycling totes are black with yellow lids and display the recycling icon. Totes are to be out at the curb by 6:00am for pickup. Lid opening must be facing toward the road and 3 feet away from any object. All garbage in the tote must be in some type of garbage bag. Totes are considered full when garbage or recycling is to the top and lid is shut. Extra garbage or recycling on top or around tote will not be picked up.
Totes cannot be put out prior to 5:00pm the night before pickup and must be removed by 7:00pm the day of pickup. Totes will not be put on temporary suspension (vacation, winter months). Totes are the property of the contractor and are not to be removed from the address assigned. If removed or destroyed, totes will be replaced at the customers cost of $80.00 for each tote. The contractor is not responsible for any accidents involving totes while in possession of the customer.
Houston County Supervised Drop-Off Site
The Houston County Supervised Drop-Off Site is available to residents of Caledonia on Wednesdays from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM For further information, please contact Houston Environmental Services at 507-725-5800 or Houston County Recycling at 507-896- 2535. Directions: Turn west off of Highway #44 by Evergreen Cemetery. Go approximately 1 mile; take private driveway off of the curve.
Supervised Tree & Brush Drop-Off Site
Directions: Take County Road 3 east of Caledonia past the Houston County Fairgrounds. At the bottom of the hill, take a right onto County Road 32. Go one block and follow the road on the left that goes up to the tree & brush drop-off site.
- No keys hare handed out for the tree & brush site
- No fee for City residents
- Non-residents follow load schedule
Option 1
Load prices for commercial tree trimmers
- Pickup or equivalent small trailer – $5.00 per load
- Large trailer – $10.00 per load
- Large commercial truck – $40.00 per load
Option 2
- Unlimited use during normal hours – $1,500 per year
