The City of Caledonia Diseased Tree Disposal Site will be open for anyone wishing to haul their materials to the site at their own convenience from 9:00am to 4:00pm daily starting Monday, November 3rd, through Friday, November 7th.

Residents shall be responsible for placing materials curbside for pick up by 7:00am Monday, November 3rd during fall clean up with final pick up on Friday, November 7th. The Street Department will not return for pickup of any materials that are placed curbside after 7:00am on Friday, November 7th.

Acceptable items for composting include grass, vegetables, leaves, and other types of vegetation in its natural state. Items should be placed in biodegradable bags or cardboard boxes (not regular totes or plastic garbage bags). 30-gallon biodegradable bags are available at the local hardware store and grocery store for purchase. Materials that are not placed in a proper container will not be collected. Tree branches and brush will be accepted if cut into pieces not to exceed four feet in length and six inches in diameter and are tied securely into bundles.

Unacceptable items that will not be collected include dirt, rocks, concrete, furniture, dimension lumber, blacktop and regular garbage.

The tree disposal site will remain open until Saturday, November 8th or longer as the weather permits. Regular hours are Monday and Wednesday from 10:00am to 4:00pm and Saturday from 9:00am to 4:00pm.
